Kitchen & Trim!

New kitchen window sill and trim:

And the trim (around doors/windows and the base board) is added throughout the house. Some places around the house have a bit of space b/w the wall and the floor b/c the house is old and crooked. Though our professionals suggest adding a squared off shoe molding to clean it up, which we understand, we kind of like the character of leaving the trim as it is-spaces and all!

So cute! This is one of the windows that will have the obscured glass:

Kitchen Cabinets And Other Updates!

Our stove and chimney hood will go between these cabs. Notice the "filler" on the right wall cabinet-I dont like that. I think Id like (a) the filler removed and (b) the trim wrapped around the side of the cabinet instead of going straight over to the wall the way it is now (if you blow up the picture youll see what I mean).

Our dishwasher will fit into that little nook and our sink will go under the window!

Our fridge will slide right into that tall opening!

Though we had our guy paint the french doors to match the wall we think we will prefer them the color of the trim (the trim will be a rich creamy color). Some of the trim looks white b/c its primed-some of the pieces dont look white b/c they arent primed.

Notice anything different about this hallway picture? We have our solid wood doors! They will be painted the rich creamy trim color (the trim and ceilings are same color throughout)

Our bathroom plumbing-this is for wall-mount faucets of clawfoot tub

And this is for our ceiling-mount rain shower head (those are recessed light on the sides)!

Yay!

Shower Curtain Time!

I love this shower curtain! It comes in cream or white. Our fixtures are white but our trim is creamy so I think the cream color will look best.

Exterior Door Knobs!

Here are (sort of) our exterior knobs/locks for the door in the front and the french doors in the back. We have the handle ON the plate (like in the first picture) but have the knob (like in the second picture) not the lever.

Flat black on the outside, antique nickel on the inside.

Interior Door Knobs

Here is our knob and rosette choice-but in a flat black finish...

Furniture

We are donating our current furniture which means we get to pick out new!

Now, Im thinking of using one of these pieces in the Dining Room to store all the randomness thats currently housed in my china cabinet:

But I fear the anthro mirrored piece might clash with the restoration hardware candle chandelier we ordered for this space (see picture on blog) so maybe the piece below would work better in the dining room (and I could always use the smaller version of the mirrored piece (a mirrored nightstand) in one of the bedrooms upstairs). (NB the piece below comes only in black or white-Id paint it a different color)

And Im pretty sure we are going to use this guy in the bedroom:

This storage bench might go under the tv (I might replace those boring knobs though with something cuter):

More Of Our B.A. Floors!

First floor being installed:

Heres the pile of paint (over 9 layers) that came off the stairwell!

New treads being installed (nice, clean risers)

First floor is done!

Family room and dining room...

Kitchen...

Second floor being installed:

Cool skip-planed texture with saw kerfs

Cool!

Second floor is done!

Middle/back bedrooms...

Master bedroom...

Once the renovations are complete the floor guys will come back and do a "screen sanding" (very light sanding process which will smooth the wood yet allow it to retain its great markings) and apply the finish (a wax finish for a rustic and natural look-not that shiny poly stuff)!
